Jean-Marie Brault began painting in 2015.
After studying the masters of Impressionism, he gave way to the confrontation between the painter and the landscape. Like them, he seeks a palpable accuracy of emotion within the painting, as well as harmonies of color.
He also questions values and composition, which form the whole.
Back in Brittany in 2019, he returns to landscapes. Landscape remains a key element of his painting and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. However, other inspirations are able to shift his focus, such as interior compositions, portraits and still lifes. The composition gradually becomes a living part of the painting.
